Picnics: The Perfect Recipes, Dresses and Hats!

Summertime means picnics in the park, at the pool and on the beach. We’ll invite friends to our favorite spot for great food and fun cocktails, and of course, no picnic would be complete without the perfect outfit. All Sunny Goddess picnics start with the Las Baydas beach blanket as a big, bright, beautiful backdrop to mark the occasion. They can easily fit six adults and all the food comfortably. Plus you can feel good you’re using a product made from recycled cotton that gives back 10% of profits to support local students in Sayulita, Mexico.

This year my sister and I have been satisfying our sweet tooth with fruit kabobs both fresh and grilled. They’re yummy, pretty and a hit with all ages!  We’ll whip up a yogurt dip for the fresh kabobs or a honey glaze for the grilled ones. We’ll balance out the sweet by throwing together a savory dish of quinoa and veggie salad. You can add some grilled asparagus, tomatoes, and sprinkle on some feta cheese – simple and delicious.

For a daytime picnic I love the vibe of our Nantucket Dress. It’s fun and easy. For an evening gathering the Capri Maxi Dress is elegant and flattering for all body types! These dresses are summer at its best and let you feel playful and sexy.

Every picnic requires a great sun hat to shade you from the sun and keep you vibing a cool summer look. We love the Fedora hat by Tula for a more edgy feel and the Catalina Hat for a wide brimmed, classic look.

A summer picnic wouldn’t be complete without a great cocktail. Our favorite has been a frozen pineapple cooler. Throw some fresh pineapple, lime juice, coconut milk, rum and ice in a blender, and voila, you’ve got the perfect drink to toast to endless summer nights with.  Enjoy!!
